Madame Tussauds, located at Times Square in New York City, Madame Tussauds is famous for its wax statues of several notable personalities of the world including Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo Di Caprio, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift and Lionel Messi. Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan among others add up to list of the Bollywood celebrities at the museum.
The new to join them is Bollywood’s Barbie doll, Katrina Kaif whose wax statue’s first look was unveiled at the Twitter account of the famous museum.
In the photos released on April 14, Katrina is all decked up in a gold sequined lehenga as she strikes a pose similar to how she does in her many photographs. While the makeup on her statue with a hint of liner, rosy cheeks and nude lips, is subtle as Katrina usually prefers. Her statue is placed next to the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
Katrina’s statue in the traditional outfit looked lovely as it was unveiled amidst a number of dancers wearing Indian attires performing around Katrina and Amitji’s statues.
However, in spite of getting several like on Twitter, people noticed that the statue is not resembling Katrina’s face and that how the artists of Madame Tussauds, who are so accurate at their statues, could make such mistake.
“I feel her nose is not perfect and even her lips,” said one user while another said that Katrina’s beauty is ‘unmatchable’ and cannot be illustrated through a statue. While another user said, “I don’t think that it is good because Katrina is more beautiful.” Some others, though, praised the statue, saying that it is a beautiful piece of art.
